Prior to Tower Service’s debut in 1985, founder John Hammel got his start in the industry in 1974, working for Tennessee Valley Authority on pre-existing towers maintaining meteorological instruments. It wasn't long there after that John realized this was his passion. He loved the thrill of the climb, and the fact that at the end of the day he could look across the horizon to see that he had changed it. He could see his work come to fruition and know he had left his mark.

Between 1974 and 1985, John worked for various tower crews around the country before finally getting the opportunity to buy out a pre-existing company from a long time mentor and friend, who he had worked for, for the years prior. Since 1985, Tower Service & Manufacturing Co. has been servicing towers in the Indiana area as well as the surrounding states!
